I just bought a cz 82. Should I be able to engage the safety when the hammer is all the way forward? It will engage when the hammer is cocked. I haven't shot it yet - just curious.
thanks!

Re: question re cz 82
That is normal. The safety should engage only when the hammer is drawn back. This is how it is carried when cocked and locked. You disengage the safety and fire. Pretty cool I think.

Re: question re cz 82
blackblade is correct. I love my CZ-82, I think you'll like yours as well. It's one of my fav. handguns besides my old S&W .38 revolver.
Re: question re cz 82
Have 2 of them from the early days of their importation (C&R Licence is rather useful) and I too, like them almost as much as my older M&Ps. Not the tupperware S&Ws but the real metal jobs. Daven
