Does safety decock hammer.

I noticed that some times when I engage the safety it will also decock the hammer. Sometimes it does not.

Yes PA-Joe. When the safety is put in the SAFE position, it is supposed to decock the hammer and the hammer will fall. If it does not do it consistently every time, you may need to give your gun a good clean and inspect your disconnector and all other parts for that matter since it's an old gun.
