I was cleaning a P-83 yesterday and I noticed this fine line. What is it?
A weld? A crack?

I have the same on mine, and it is where the chamber starts and the slide ends. I fired several rounds thru mine of Hornady JHP 95gr thru mine and it is the best feeding gun for that load I have seen. Fired 25rds and no failure to feed. Hornady is now my carry bullet for the P-83.

Definitely looks like a transition line. No defect.
