HK4 new to me

Post by 6x6pinz »

While I was up at JG sales friday, I came across a HK4 380 and a 22 conversion kit. Being that I am a 380/9x18 nut I decided I had to add it to my collection. What a surprise this little gem is. I converted it to 22 just to see what was involved but put it back to 380 for some range time. I found this little pistol to be a nice shooter although a bit sluggish in the trigger and snappy with the recoil it was a pleasure to shoot. Another trip to the range and then I am going to make the conversion and take it to the range. Would be great to find the other barrels but highly unlikely

Haven't seen one of these in decades. They got any more? ::)

The HK 4 (P11 in German military issue) pistol is from the German firm of Heckler and Koch, GmBH. Introduced in 1967, and now out of production (as of 1984 according to the Blue book of Gun Values 13th ed.), it is a large sized pocket pistol, designed to interchange between .22 LR, .25 ACP (6.35mm), .32 ACP (7.65mm) and .380 ACP (9mm Kurz), (8 rounds each except .380 for which the mag capacity is 7) by replacing only the barrel and magazine.

I have never seen one before this one. Nice design with the standard euro combat setup. I think I like shooting my Mauser Hsc better but in that I can switch a few parts around and have a 22 this has a certain cool factor.
This was the only one that JG had but gunbroker has several listed. I saw a 32 with 22 conversion set up for auction.
