Unlocking Slide

Post by MrLasVegas »

I can't keep my slide in the unlocked postion. I can pull it back and it slides fine, but it will not stay open.
I have not fired it yet, so I do not know if it will stay open after emptying a magazine.
It is a 1968 model.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Are you doing this with an empty mag in the gun? Mine will stay open with a mag but not without a mag.

With no magazine in the gun, the slide will never come back and lock in the rear position.

With an empty magazine in the gun, the slide should lock back to the rear when fully pulled back.

If the slide is not locking back with an empty magazine, I would say there is an issue with either the slide lock lever or with the follower on the magazine.

Magazine in, slide stays back. I just wasnt pulling back hard enough. Just had to give it a quick firm pull.
