Jammed P-64----Heres what happened

Post by Berniep »

After my first post after joining this forum about my jammed pistol I got the slide off and here is the answer. My neighbor who was with me at the range came over and we inspected the gun with a magnafying glass. A tiny piece of the slide stop lever broke off the back end jammed the gun. If you shove a empty magazine in the P-64 you will see the stop lever raise up to do its job of stopping the slide when the gun is empty. After many hits of the slide over the years a sliver broke off. I do not think this will inhibit the function of the gun in any way. I do not think this affects the safety or I would not fire it in the future. I will try to find one somewhere on line and if you guys can help me out in this regard I will appreciate your help. Again this is still a great firearm and well worth the money. Ernie.
