New from Indiana

Post by Birds Away »

Hello, I live in Indiana and am retired USN (26 yrs). I bought a CZ 82 in December and loved it. Found a P-64 at a gun show and couldn't pass it up. Now I am awaiting the arrival of my new to me P-83. Very happy to have found this site. I am looking forward to learning more about my little friend and what I can do to make it the best it can be.
Thanks,
Rick

Welcome! Sounds like you've been bitten by the bug too. Enjoy the obsession!
If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

Well, I can see you are addicted to the 9x18mm family. I also have a P-64 and a P-83 plus a 7.62x25mm Tokarev. The Polacks are both great shooters with the hammer spring changed to a 18 pounder in the P-64. My Tok was brought home from WW2 by my wifes father. It was made in 1939 is in excellent shape and with the powerful cartridge it is a super blast to shoot. Oh, my buddy and I are going to a gun show tomorrow, the show has 700 tables and the wife gave me permission to get her a pistol for home defense and wants to learn how to shoot. Life is good there is gonna be another gun in the house.

Yes, I love the P-64 but it does have some of the same problems I have been reading about. The double action pull is extreme and the single action is very touchy. I would like to reduce the double while increasing the single somewhat. Or at least leaving the single action as is. Is this possible and if so, how? Thanks.
