Seems like there arent many/any sight options out there.
I was thinking about removing the rear sight, milling the rear "hump" channel wider and installing a fiber optic tube into it.
With some practice, the indexing of the front and rear sights takes care of itself, so having a single bright dot should work in getting quickly onto close targets.
Thoughts?
Sight options and ideas.
Re: Sight options and ideas.
Someone posted here a few months ago with a custom P64 sight job in which the rear was milled into a trench sight. If you have access to a mill, you'd be better off to trench the rear and cut a dovetail in the front, imo. For that matter, you could also dovetail the rear. If going with a fiber tube, I'd put it up front as that's the most important part of the sight picture.

I though about milling some very small grooves in front and rear sights and painting a white stripe on the center line of the rear sight and an orange dot on the front sight (or an orange stripe). This is European I know... but there are other options out there too.
For me, that rear sight is hard to see in bright sunlight with the chamber loaded indicator sticking out and shining brightly just below the sight base. Those are tiny sights and are not obtrusive. I want to keep them out of the way.
Variety abounds!
