Bought a P64 from Cabela's today! springs?

OK, got it home today and cleaned. It's in really nice shape with almost no wear but a few scratches near the muzzle. the interior parts are extremely clean and crisp looking. the safety, hammer and the trigger whatsits bar on the inside are all plumb colored.

However, even after cleaning, just like the one I saw in the store, it is impossible for me to get the hammer to drop in DA, with either hand. I have to use 2 fingers to make it happen. like I said, i'm not a small guy. so... springs are in the mail.

Sorry norm, i dropped a word out of my sentence when I said: "got it home today and cleaned." I meant cleaned IT. i'll shoot it a bit on saturday and see how it goes.

Trig - Cleaning and shooting greatly helped mine.

Before cleaning - Double action trigger took a ridiculous amount of pressure before the hammer would drop. Also, the hammer drop safety had the feel that it was binding. Premature conclusion - this thing doesn't work right.
After thorough external/internal cleaning and shooting and lubing and cleaning and shooting and lubing - Sweet!

The pistol looked as though it had hardly been (maybe never) shot. Thus, both cleaning and breaking-in produced a significant improvement. It has been my experience that new/near-new blowback pistols require a significant break-in period (a couple of hundred rounds or more). I hope you are as pleased with your P64 as I am with mine! I consider it a bargain and accurate/reliable performer.
