That's a pretty good idea! :o I never thought of it for DIY rubber grips. Does it adhere well to the plastic of the grips? Can you post a picture?

I have to post the picture from home but it adheres great. I did an alcohol wipe down before spraying on 4 coats of black Plasti-dip. It holds up really well, I did the same thing to my Hi-point c9 grips.

Hi everyone! Just bought my P64 a couple of weeks or so ago. Isn't this a neat pistol!!! I'm 63 & retired but only been into firearms for the last ten years or so. Grew up in Kansas City, MO but lived in Independence (Truman Town) MO for 37 years until Aug. 2009. Then my wife and I took the plunge and moved to the country. Just outside of Odessa, MO at the end of a dead-end road. My neighbors across the road are a herd of cattle. Man, this is the life! The only way it could be better is if we were in Montana, Wyoming, or the likes. Used to do SERIOUS wilderness backpacking out there. I still have a Ted Williams 410 shotgun my dad bought for me in 1960 when I was 13. My favorite long gun is a Mosin Nagant M44. It's in beautiful condition. But back to the P64.... I love this gun. When I tell my friends what I bought, they say "a P64? What's that?" But as soon as my best friend (my pastor who is really into guns) shot mine, he said "I want one of those!" This is a great forum and I'm learning things every time I get on it (which is every night). Good luck and God bless!!!

Hello everyone,
I came across this site while looking for some answers to why the safety on my P64 was giving me troubles.....boy am I happy I found you guys.
I'm a gun lover and have been for many years, even used to do some reloading of .357 and .38's. Gave up all my guns when I got divorced a long time ago and am just starting to build up a nice little collection again. So far I have a Sigma 9mm, 1963 P38, 1975 P64 and a little plinker (Ruger .22 rifle). Hopefully I'll be getting a 1910 Savage in the next few days... and a broomhandle Mauser when I can save up enough.
On a personal note, I work in the medical field at one of the largest hospitals in San Antonio (love taking care of people), and am an avid motorcycle rider, plus I love camping, hunting and fishing.....I guess I'm just a tomboy at heart.

Shuga,

Welcome aboard, glad to have ya with us, really like the broom handle and good looking ride you have there. I lived in San Antonio back in the 60's, Temple in the 50's and San Angelo in the 40's., so its good to have a Texas gal with us that appreciated guns.

Hi everyone,
Happy to be here, ran across the board a few weeks back when shopping for a Makarov. The P-64 seemed like an interesting pistol so I bought a 1975 model locally for a nice price. It's in great shape and will be at the range as soon as I get a lighter hammer spring from wolff. Will post pics soon.

Hey guys. I am brand new here and don't even have a P-64 yet. I saw that the p-64 became C&R so I ordered one last night from SOG.

Hello all,

I found this sight through searching for info about the P64 before buying one from a distributor. I've been a firearms collector for years but just got into the MilSurp scene a few years ago. My C&R license has been indespensible in aquiring some nice guns. I live in Massachusetts so we're severely limited as to what options are out there for buying older guns. The P64 caught my eye a few years ago but I haven't been able to even get my hands on one to study it. Since they just became C&R eligible I jumped at the chance to order an excellant specimen. I'll be shooting it for the first time after work today.

Looking forward to learning more about this neat little shooter on here!

John
