firing pin rotating

I'm glad no one got hurt with your unexpected discharge. I've heard horror stories and seen nasty pics of injuries from unexpected discharges. It just goes to show you why we should always keep 'em pointed downrange or at the badguys when they are loaded!! Scary shit!!

well that seems to be problem solved for me. put in the new firing pin and firing pin spring and everything already appears to be locked in place tightly how it should be.

firing pin rotating

Post by rgbydand »

I got my replacement firing pin and spring installed. My old spring was a few mm shorter than the new, and there is a DEFINITE difference in the 2 pins. The bad one is sort of rounded on one side, and that allows it to rotate. Perhaps quality control was slack and they had different production runs. I will try to post pics of the differences between the good and the bad (I'll keep out the ugly 8-)), so that anyone else that runs into this can disassemble thier gun and compare parts. As soon as I figure out how, I'll get them up. I'd hate for someone else to have a misfire like tylerkaplan. Thanks again to NORMSUTTON for the help.
