Red,

Glad to hear things are going well with your wife's progress. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. You're right, though.....although bypass isn't something to be taken lightly, these surgeries really have made milestones of progress over the years. I'm sure she'll be back to action in no time 'atall.

Redfestiva,
Good to hear your wife is doing as well as can be expected. My best wishes to her.
Maybe next spring a gang form the forum can hook up at the machine gun shoot.
Time to head to the Creek. Looking forward to another night shoot.
Have a great weekend all.

I went up for friday. Weather was great. Crowd wasn't bad but prices were high on ammo. I may have missed it, but I didn't see any 9x18 ammo. Also no P-64s. I picked up a few odds & ends (303 stripper clips, romy ak folding stock, uzi mag). If you were looking for ak mags, they were 10.00each, but prices seemed higher than in the spring on most things. Still had a good day, hope anyone else that made it did also. ;D

The weather was perfect on Saturday. The crowds were large until after the night shoot.
I've seen better night shoots but it was great none the less.
Don't know about the parkerizing truck.
Lots of stuff for sale. Ammo prices were high.
Found a nice transferable Minigun...for $284,000.00. Maybe he'll take a P-64 as partial trade.

As with most things, if it's priced right it will sell.
The tables were loaded with overpriced stuff. Most of it will be going back home with the sellers.
That said, if I had "silly money" I'd find some neat toys none the less.

Went to Knob Creek Saturday; taking extra shoes, socks, pants, umbrella and two hats did the trick. Not a spot of rain. It was dusty though. Had two helicopters, nice crowd, but definitely not too crowded except of course for the inevitable dolts who wear those stupid back packs. "Infidel" T-shirts were very popular!!

Didn't see any P64's, but did pick-up a few odds and ends. The Patton Museum was great. They've added a lot. The best is the giant WW I monster tank! Way cool. You can't drive on the base anymore but at least Knox did postpone pointless measures as long as they could. (like somebody's going to attack an armored army base).

I went up to Knob in spring of '02 for the shoot. My buddy is a captain in the Army, and was stationed at Ft. Knox at the time so I stayed with him. I LOVED the Patton museum. Everybody should go at some point in their life! I just remember being awestruck and almost frightened when I rounded a corner and saw a Tiger tank. Most people don't realize HOW BIG and INTIMIDATING they really are.

Patton Museum has been on my must see list since 1972 . loved it then and was some way better in those days.. it was old fashioned and kinda loose. but the tanks and vehicles were all around in the lots and you could climb all over em. Inside was even better you could actually see up close and even touch a lot of thexhibits. if the volunteers knew you, you got to handle a lot of the stuff. It was a family joke that when anyone was at our place for a visit it was manatory to go there. last time was there KC last year. still love it and yes it is a must see.
