Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj
I personally like over penitration. One hole in the front and one in the back. I also know how to get contol of the enemies hearts and minds. Two shots to the chest then one to the head. Worked every time for me when I tried it.

Don't laugh until you try it on a blue gun. Yes Esquire Black Boot Polish. Ever notice how slippery your car gets when you put a coat of wax on it. Did you even see that wax running off the car on a hot day either. The car will be so hot you can't keep your hand on it but the wax will not roll off. ...

Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?
Dick he is a school teacher by vocation and one hell of a nice guy and just a pleasure to be around. I am going to bring the CZ 82 with me next time and just to see what he can do with it. I am no expert however, I can hit what I am aiming at most of the time and the 82 is the most accurate gun in m...

Should be, now I don't know if Foo birds are from Europe now. You are on your own there. I do know the FUBAR bird is American though...Foo Bird wrote:So unless I'm attacked by a Euro that knows firearms, I should be safe in that regard.

Re: 22 pound recoil spring.
I can only speak from my experiences. In auto loading pistols, the recoil spring is a dynamic integral part of it's operations. I changed mine out to a 20 lb for correct cycle operation with todays modern ammunition and also the fact that the original was over 30 years old. 20 lbs is the normal wieg...

Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?
The De Santis Speed Scabbard for a Walthers PPK fits very nice for me. In fact all of my Walthers PPK holsters fit the P 64 very well. I like the De Santis because you can adjust retention with a simple screw adjustment. I have just completed the 200 round reliability test on the Kahr CW 40 I ended ...

Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?
In my opinion the pistol is setting much too high and could get knocked loose or grabbed is a tussle. I Like them lower and I never cross draw. Too much chance of a miss when sweeping left to right plus your strong arm is out in front of you to be grabbed. It should be 2 to 3 inches lower and behind...

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj
Thanks Norm, I read somewhere that S&B made some for the Czech Army when they were using the CZ 82. It must have been on the CZ forums. I think you know my position on overpressured ammunition and that there is absolutly no need for it. Putting it in a 30 + year old Mil Surlpus pistol is dangero...

Re: Safety assembly "cant"
Thanks for all the input everyone! After taking it apart and looking at it for a while, I believe the actual cause of the apparent cant of the safety is a combination of dfunk and boomer's posts. I appears that a)the cutout in the rear of the slide is indeed misaligned, with the right side being mi...

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj
I think the 115 grn stuff was used in their Sub Machine guns with the hard primers and that's why the 64 had such a heavy hammer spring to ignite it. If memory serves me, S&B made some 115 FMJ at the request of the Czech Army as well at one time for use in the CZ 82. That is kinda getting on the...

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj
I got Silver Bear JHP all over here in TN. Goes for around $12.00 a box of 50. I have not hear anything about it being discontinued. I have a few boxes laying around here somewhere I received the other day http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=157040236#PIC But then again, I like S&am...
