I just picked up my first P64. I have a Mak and really like it so I figured I would give the P64 a try. It actually fits my hand better than the Mak I think. I cant wait to go shoot it. I bout it with all the ammo in a FTF deal for $125 today. I think I did well. What do you guys think?

Great Deal! That price for the pistol alone is a bargin!
Make sure you thoroughly clean it, soak it, clean it again...then use up that ammo!!
Am I seeing the price on the blazer ammo correctly, $19.97?!?!?!
WOW! I was mad when all I could buy at a range was Blazer for $13.00 a box! Find a different source when you're ready to resupply. Lots of online resources AIM, SOG, DANS etc.
Enjoy!

First let me say welcome to the forum. I think you did really good on that deal! What year is it? Cant tell from that angle but looks to be a round hammer? Clean it up as carguy suggested and enjoy.

Now where did you find a deal like that. Your sister?
The ammo is worth at least $45, so you bought an outstanding pistol for $80.
I think you got burned, and I'll give you $85 for the pistol; you keep the ammo!
Welcome to the forum dana, and that deal set the bar pretty friggin low.

the CCI are hollow points so i think that price is right.
I think it says 1971 on it so i would guess it is a 71.
what should i soak it in and how much should i strip it?

Welcome to this great forum - dana. One of the better lubes
for firearms is breakfree oil after you clean up your P 64.

Hi dana,
Welcome to the forum. You can't go wrong with the deal you got. I hope you enjoy the P-64. I have had mine since January and I really like mine. They are high quality handguns at a low price. Those 2 things seldem go together. You got some excellent ammo with the deal too. I'm pretty sure all that is reloadable brass cased ammo. Nice Polish holster too. Give us a full report after you get a chance to fire it.

WELCOME
take the grips and the slide off
then soak in a solvent then blow off
with brake cleaner or WD 40
then lightly oil
if safety is hard to turn you may have to take safety apart
I use ether diesel fuel or paint thinner to soak in
if red dot comes off, red finger nail polish works just fine or any red paint put on with tooth pick
I use 20 w 50 synthetic oil and a light coat of axle grease on the slide rails

dana,
First: Welcome aboard, glad to have ya here. There is a wealth of information here, so take the time to read several of the threads and learn as much as you can.
Second: Norm is our resident gunsmith and guru on the P-64 and others, he has helped many members here including myself, please take his advice and suggestions to heart, you can't go wrong with them. The suggestion he gave: take the grips and the slide off
then soak in a solvent then blow off
with brake cleaner or WD 40
then lightly oil
if safety is hard to turn you may have to take safety apart
I use ether diesel fuel or paint thinner to soak in
if red dot comes off, red finger nail polish works just fine or any red paint put on with tooth pick
I use 20 w 50 synthetic oil and a light coat of axle grease on the slide rails
is a solid one, and we have found it to be a excellent suggestion.
Third: $125 OTD is a great price, count yourself fortunate, however, I must warn you, these are addictive and very few of us have only one, for myself I have owned 5, and many here have owned more than two...........but its a wonderful addiction.
Regards,
papabear

Welcome dana,
Looks like you made two great finds, your new CZAK, and this great forum. Do like Norm said, then blow through that ammo as fast as you can, then repeat!!

+1 with bartos061,
The holster on the left is for the P64 and the holster on the right is for the Makarov, I think your holster is for the Makarov or maybe the
Walther PP holster, but for sure its not for the P-64, however, it should fit ok........I have used that holster for my P-64's too.
