hey everyone,
I've been reading through forum, looking for info on what weight springs to use. I know some of it depends on the gun and the shooter. I want to use it for concealed carry and home defense. I want it dependable. I've read the 17# gives light primer strikes so I will stay away from that one. Any advice or thoughts on the 18, 19 or 20 ? :?

Welcome to the forum Spike.

You will also have a hair trigger in SA with the 17 or 18 lb hammer sprnig.

Everybody runs the 17 or 18 hammer spring to cut down on the nasty double action pull. I think it has a good feel in SA also with the 17. We get the springs from Wolf www.gunsprings.com I also run a 22lb recoil spring because they are pretty snappy with the stock 18lb. I have the same setup in both of mine and use it as a carry gun.

I have the 22lb recoli spring and it is still "snappy" even with Marschalls grips.

If you want smooth go with a P83, you don't even notice the recoil. I like the looks and styling better on the P64 so it replaced my LCP as a pocket carry.

Also when you go to www.gunsprings.com the P64 is listed under Polish not Radom.
