Magazine variations?

Hi all,
I had heard that there are two different magazines for the P-64, an older and a newer model that are, respectively, compatible with the older and newer model P-64s. The newer model P-64 has a different feed ramp and the newer magazines have longer lips on the top that will work with that one, but not with the older one. I have a '68 vintage and am looking for a few magazines, but the ones I've seen have the longer lip. Does anyone have any information on this? If all else is equal, I wouldn't have a problem modifying the new ones if necessary, but would rather just get some that fit and work properly. Anyone have a source for the older type that are new old stock?
