question for seasoned reloaders

Is it really required to resize a cartridge every reloading? If it is fired from the same chamber always then why not leave it ? When the round is fired the case pressure swells the cartridge to fill the chamber to exact size of the chamber. I understand most bottle necks stretch but on small cartridges wouldn't it be easier on the brass if it wasn't resized each reload?

never tried it, don't own just one gun or rifle in one cal. so I full length re size all my brass. I think you will find in a hand gun case the bullet will drop down to the powder before you can put a crimp on the case to hold the bullet in place, if not resized

Yep you are correct Norm. The bullet drops right in down to the charge. I tested it. Well that's how we learn. Thank you.

I was taught that semi autos ALWAYS require full length resizing. Same with pump action, lever actions, and so on.

The exception are bolt action rifles IF you only reload for that rifle. In which case you neck size.

It's important that you resize to get consistent round to round performance.

Can't say I reload, but I've also read that shotgun shells don't need to be resized if used in the same shotgun, particularly if it's break or pump.
