Help! I lost my safety detent plunger!

Post by jpjames »

Where can I find one? I heard one from a 1911 would work, but how do you mod it?

Welcome to the forum James.

There are 3 for sale on GB. I think the guy from Poland charges around $5 for shipping, I would check with him to be sure.

Althought it might take longer to get.

You might think about ordering more than one. Robert in Warsaw combines shipping on multiple part orders if you buy all in one GB session, and he ships all the parts at once. You may have to add all your orders up yourself. His confirmation email may just give you the shipping for your entire purchase. His English isn't the best, but he's truthful about the condition of the parts. I just send him an email when I make the payment listing the items, shipping and total amount that I sent.

Takes about 2 weeks to ship to the midwestern US. Ordered from him two different times.

I found the plunger! Now, I've messed up the spring! I have nearly reached the point of futility!

Ok...fixed it! I took a couple of coils off of the spring, while I was at it. Safety works beautifully!
