I have my 9X18 reloads I am going to Chrony tomorrow...both Mak brass and my 9X19 cut down brass. All same powder loads/primers/bullets.

I also have Brown Bear FMJ/Silver Bear FMJ/Silver Bear JHP/Wolf and S&B FMJ.

I usually Chrony my pistol loads @ 20'-25'.

Any particular "test" you guys want let me know and I'll report for you.

Just a quick question, sir - what bullets are you using? I've used Missouri Bullet Company round-nose bare lead (95 gr, I think) with good result.

I've loaded up some rounds with Berry's plated bullets, but I haven't gotten around to firing them yet.

Dwight, Berry's work pretty decent in my P-64 and CZ-82. I've been using 4.6 gr of Power Pistol in the Berry loads.

Sarge, I can't think of any tests, but it will be interesting to see what results you come up with. Are you going to chrony the factory loads also? It would be a good comparison to see how reloads compare to the factory loads. Interested to see if there is any velocity difference between Mak and Luger brass. I wonder if Luger brass would have any more speed as I think it has thicker walls than standard Mak which could increase the chamber pressure slightly to an equal load in Mak brass. Look forward to your results.

I am going to Chrony all the ammo I listed. I also am curious of the difference (if any) with the cut down Luger brass.

I used Hornady XTP 95g bullets for all these loads. 3.5g Titegroup @ .965 OAL

I am going to shoot one magazine (each) from a Polish P64/FEG PA-63 and a CZ 82.

I run a bore snake through after each magazine.

I use Bullseye for all my pistol loads (.45 ACP, .38 Special, 9mm Luger and 9mm Mak). Although pretty dirty, I find Bullseye to be cheap and versatile for target/practice rounds.

4.2 gr in my 9mm Luger and Mak loads gives a slightly lighter recoil than most factory ammo I've used.

I took the average of five rounds each.
All shot out of a P-64
Ran a bore snake after each five rounds

Silver Bear FMJ 1004FPS
Silver Bear JHP 1011FPS
Brown Bear FMJ 992FPS
S&B FMJ 1072FPS

95g Hornady XTP
3.5g TiteGroup
Wolf SPP
.965 OAL

Starline Brass (unfired)
1092FPS

Starline Brass (unfired and crimped with Lee Factory Crimp Die)
1103FPS

Cut down luger brass to .712 case length and crimped as above
1118FPS

That's it. All shot/loaded and ejected perfect.

Next experiment is with dead hog(s) and Makarov versus 9mm. Wound channels and penetration etc.
I have seen this but want my #1 Grandson to film it and take still pictures also. I think many whom believe the Makarov is not up to the self defense task may be surprised. I was.

In the case of the Silver Bear HP they are going 1011 FPS and I think they're 94 grains.
So, 1011x1011= 1022121...... 1022121x94= 96079374..... 9607934/450400= 213.32 foot pounds.

That number matches up with the website you posted... 213.3 ft lbs.

It's all well and good so long as you have a laptop or cellular device connected to the internet at the shooting range. Some folks don't have internet on the phone, and not everyone may have a plain old calculator. However, most folks do have a cellphone with a calculator program. It's takes literally less time than to go to each field of the online calculator that you basically put in the exact same info. However, it is good to have websites like these around. Thanks for sharing Boris. Mauser1959 had shared one as well.
