Question about Marschal grips

I have grips from the Marschal brothers for my P64 and love them. I recently bought a beautifully refinished (duracoated) CZ82 and want to buy some grips for it. My question is what are the oil finished grips like? Does anyone have them? Are you pleased with them? Do they have any gloss? Do you need to apply oil on occasion? What kind of oil? I'm having a really hard time making up my mind what type of wood and finish to get. I have clear finished red stained Wattle grips on my P64 and I'm thinking of the really contrasting Zebrawood for my CZ82. If anyone is considering a CZ82, check out Mach 1 Arsenal. They have them duracoated and they do a beautiful job. Thanks for any response, especially pics. Good shooting to all!

I had these on a Soviet military Mak I traded to a friend - I hit them with lemon oil or orange oil (whatever I was using on the furniture) every once in a while, and they stood up fine.

I have the Zebrawood oil finish checkered with fingercuts on mine.
I love it. I also included a photo of her in leathers :)
I wipe her down with a light coat of mineral oil from time to time to prevent cracking, and add a nice natural shine.

I just ordered the "short" Marschal "beavertail" grip (same zebrawood finish as CZ-82) for my P-64. The "beavertail" looks like it will solve that slide bite problem. (I had the full size Marschal P-64 grip before, but didn't care for the way it covered the magazine release.) The photo, (from Marschal's website) shows the walnut oil finish model.

Thanks at2wooden, you answered my question about oil finish on zebrawood. Looks great! I also have short grips (not beavertail) on my P64. I prefer the short grip's look over the long grip. Good shooting to all and God bless! Nightwatch.

I don't remember; sorry. :) I'm sure a visit to his site would reveal the answer, though.

I just bought a cherry 62' EG Makarov off of Gunbroker for $380, and ordered a set of those grips in Oil finish Bubinga for it (but without the star, since mine isn't Russian).
Looks just like the same style as the original plastic, but in Bubinga :)
Also bought a pair of EG mags for $40, again off GB, and ordered the Falco IWB with thumb break and double mag holders in mahogony. (see links below)

She was more expensive than the $225 Bulgarian Maks I see for sale, but the fit and finish of the East German is like real old world craftsmanship, and may increase in value some day.
I am taking it in to have some trigger work done by my (less than) friendly but, talented gunsmith while I am waiting for the grips.
I'll post a pic or two when I get them, and do a range report of her compared to my P-64, and CZ-82.

Just an update to above, the A-hole gunsmith won't work on "Commie" guns.
(He didn't seem to mind putting new sights on my CZ-82 last month however)
After years of putting up with his surly attitude, I'm finally looking for a new smith.
Not too many smiths here in south Florida, and the "new smith in town" charges twice as much.
Sounds more like a bargain now.
Forgive my pissing & moaning, I had to let it out.
