I am fortunate enough to live close to Military Gun Supply, and just went and picked up my first P-64 this evening. It is marked 1973, and is in very good condition. I brought it home, tore it down, and gave it a good cleaning. Can't wait to try it.

I got one of these this past weekend. There was a little bit of wear on the left front of the slide and some scratches on the right side, but other then that it looks unissued. I've yet to see any cosmoline on the gun, actually the gun is pretty bone dry. Needs a good oiling and some of the edges on some of the bits, like the Safety Detent need a touch of 600 grit.
1968 btw!

I ordered on a Wednesday night and received it the following Tuesday through my FFL holder. It is a '68 with a few surface nicks but I'm sure it has never been fired. The internals are brand new and the gun is full of oil and cosmoline. I hope to clean it up today. I like it alot, except that trigger pull... hopefully cleaning, lube, and a Wolff spring will slick it up a bit. Well-made little gun.

I grabbed one of these the other day.
She's a 76' triangle hammer and in great shape.
Haven't shot her yet but...
Already replaced the recoil with a Wolf 20 lb spring (had to taper ends slightly) and an 18 lb hammer spring. Makes the DA much nicer! And polished the feed ramp.
Should be a good CCW!

I polished the feed ramp and replaced the springs on mine. Took it fairly well apart and still did not see any cosmo or oil on it. Taking it to the range tomorrow and drop some rounds through her to see how she dances!

I'm a new guy here. Glad I found this link, because I ordered the last one they had last night. Hopefully, it'll make it to my FFL by next Tuesday so I can get my hands on it.
This board was incredibly valuable and the information here helped me decide to go with the P64 for my first CCW piece. Thanks to all of you for the great info here.

The secret is out.....You don't have to get a second mortgage on the house to get a quality made firearm for a CCW. I now carry a P 64 everyday and must say it is my favorite gun...sorry Gaston and John Moses.....Is that a Polka I hear playing in the background!

aimsurplus.com has them for $169. Of course, you have to pay shipping and ffl transfer. Still not too bad, though.
