No Norm, that is the spring that came with the gun when I purchased it. Every thing else is in good shape and the gun came in a box with all the goodies plus the manual. Is there anything I can do? I have a couple of your springs on hand if you think changing springs would help the problem. Thanks for looking at it Norm. Its a good gun and I really don't want it to go the way of my '68 P-64. :'(

I don't know , the spring could be to big around, or is it sloppy in the groove

Just a idea but may be the spring slot was milled too close to the edge of the frame.

I just looked at my PA-63 and it would take a lot of lateral force to make an impression like that with the spring, which would be difficult with the slide in place, I might agree with istbankodad. It is aluminum, though.

OK, pulled the slide stop arm and all looked ok. Got a really good light and my magnaf... glass (can't spell it right now, brain fart)and low and behold there was a chunk of metal stuck inside of the groove in the arm. I think it was the from the factory because I worked on getting it out for a good hour and a half. It seemed to be welded but I'm not sure. Gotta go shoot it this weekend and see if I get an impression back in the upper groove. I got the impression out of the top groove also. Used a light hammer and stainless steel wire to insert into the groove so it wouldn't collapse. Keeping my fingers crossed. Didn't take pics but if you want pics I will post some.
