trigger is not catching to fire the next round

Every once in a while when I fire the gun and it goes back into battery, I pull the trigger to fire the next round. The trigger pulls back all the way easily but does not fire the gun.
When I let go and pull the trigger again, it fires.
Anyone know what the problem may be?

woo that was a mess but I think I finally got it clean.
upon inspecting the disconnector and playing with it, it popped off the gun. I couldnt figure out how to get it back on tightly. Finally I read that the prong part that pops into the trigger needs to be pushed under the spring above the trigger. That took me forever to do. haha
I finally pulled the spring down on the slide stop side of the gun by using a couple skinny punches, holding it in place.
Then finally got the disconnector bar held into the gun tightly.
guess I know more about the gun now
I was wondering, once the slide stop spring has been put in place, how do you pop it out? I was trying to originally get the slide stop off at first to lower the trigger spring, but couldnt get the slide stop spring off. Seemed impossible without breaking it or something.
