Broken Disconnector

Post by cheytac »

Hey All.

First post.

I just picked up a P-64 and it appears the disconnecter is broken.

Can anyone confirm this?

What effect will this have on the function of the weapon.

I need to know how angry I should be when I talk to the guy I bought it from.

Yes, it is broken and very difficult part to locate. Take it back. I'm sorry! :(

Unfortunately I bought it from a private party. I doubt he wants it back either.

It disconnects the trigger bar when the safety is engaged. Without the part, I assume your trigger tries to move the hammer while on safe. The safety also blocks the firing pin. So, other than potentially breaking more parts if you pull the trigger while on safe, I don't think it will prevent the gun from functioning.
Not sure though -- good question to have answered on this board.

Should be easy enough to Fabricate a replacement too.

Yeah. We're working that out now and I sure do appreciate the effort.

I'm just trying to do a little learning here too searcher. If it will still function safely without the disconnect I may still use it while still looking for one..

The key word here is safely though. I don't want it going rock and roll on me.
