I received my new P64 from J&G a few weeks ago----round hammer,1970. Finally got to the range last weekend. What a wonderful pistol! Had no issues whatsoever. I fed it 50 rounds of Brown Bear 95gr at 7 yards----I'm not looking for any trophies, I just want to be able to defend myself. Very accurate. Every shot was either in the red or very close to it in the black. The recoil was not an issue for me. Yes the DA is a bit stiff, but the SA is so smoooooth! I probably won't change any springs. I like her just the way she is. (this could be a very nice relationship) This little beauty will join my small, but growing, brood of carry pieces. I really like this handgun. I did notice that the safety/decock is a bit rough to move. So, if I have this pistol on my person( I am CCW licensed) with a round already in the chamber, safety on, should I (after moving the safety to fire) just pull DA or pull the hammer back for SA?. I didn't move the safety more than I had to at the range as I was a little unsure of the rough safety. Anyway, great gun and I'm glad to have it.

I also just got a 1970 round hammer from J and G and it shot fine like your too. I did have a little problem with the disconnecter lever in SA but a little deburing and a cleaning seemed to fix that.
I have a 1975 and I changed the springs to 22 recoil and 20 hammer but, with this 1970,It seems to have the same pull sa and da as my re-spring-ed 1975. I also don't think I'm going to change the springs either.
I did put flat Zee grips on it cause I'm a lefty.
If you can ever get some Blazer aluminum makarov rounds, do it.You won't believe the difference in power and flash.
These are great little guns they have at J and G now.
Glad to hear it.
