Marschalgrips - any recommendations?

I am new to the P-64 world, but happy to be here. I just received my 1976 P-64 from J&G last Friday, I took it to the range and it was better than I expected, loved it even with the stock springs. The next day, I embarked upon a complete disassembly, clean, reassembly venture. I am happy to say that it only took me 12 hours, 3 Bandaids, 5 beers, a little Brownells Oxpho-Blue, half a can of WD-40, and a box of Q-tips and it looks fantastic. :)

Now, of course, I want a set of Dennis' grips. For those that are familiar with his grips, do you have any recommendations on wood and/or finish? I was leaning towards Walnut or Wattle, checkered, no thumb rest. Not sure about finish (oil, shellac, color (red) or natural)? Are the finger grooves comfortable? What about the thumb rest, does it tend to "get in the way".

Any recommendations you have would be very much appreciated.

I have red checkered wattle and red walnut shellac on the way. I have only used his grips on my CZ-82 and Makarov guns so far. I heard he had made some mods for the P-64 grips. I am thinking of a couple sets of natural walnut next. I also have four sets of Zee grips on order for the P-64.

I think I'm in the minority, I like the thumbrest. I've got a single set of marschalgrips. Ash with oil finish, checkered, thumb rest, and finger grooves. The finger grooves and thumb rest are very comfortable. Got 'em as a father's day present last year (iirc) and couldn't be happier with them.

Scotty, Have you gone to the website?? I guess it's a matter of taste, kinda' like underwear, you know what you like . I opted for checkered, oil rubbed walnut without finger grooves. Gosh, are are they ever pretty. The next set of grips are going to be either red wattle or paduk. Checkout the site see what you think. Either way I don't think you can go wrong. I think I'd be satisfied by get about anything other than the real light colored woods like Ash, light maple. I'd really like to see a set in 'Bird's eye maple' though.

I bought a set of Ash grips with thumb rest and love them! I liked the contrast between the grips and gun. I'll upload a photo when I learn how!

Thanks for all the input, they certainly are nice grips and will add a lot to my already-favorite pistol. I shared the P-64 with several folks at the range - funny to watch as their face goes from confusion at first glance, to a serious look of consideration, and by the time they shoot the first magazine, have a smile on their face and are asking questions about where I got it...
