I don't know about yours, but my 2 P-64's have "P-64" stamped on them.
Our Polish friends may be able to clear up the terminology. I think "P" could stand for "pistol" (Polish equivalent).

You are right P is Pistolet, wz. means model in the same way M in M1, model alone isn't enough to say if you are talking about helmet, rifle or backpack...
