Norm,
My uneducated eye can't see much difference between those two pistols. It looks like the extractor is slightly different.
What types of changes did they make from one pistol to the next?
Where do you find them?

I think FEG did a lot of experimenting with the frames before they came up with the BR-61 and the LR -61
the one on top is the LR-61
the one on the bottom is a BR-61
also look at the AP9and the APK9
http://fegarmy.hu/?lang=en&p=ap9
the R-61

the top one is a 22 LR
the bottom one is a 9 x 18

Hi...been a member for awhile, although I mostly just lurk from time to time. I have one of those all black PA-63's. I bought it two years ago on gunbroker from a guy who claimed to have had it for several years. Its a pretty good shooter, but it was out of commision for awhile until I found out that Kassnar PMK trigger springs are an exact match.I've noticed some PA-63's come in factory all black as opposed to the common two-tone.
I had one of the two tone PA-63's that I bought last year from SOG "unissued," but a squib load (Wolf Ammo)during a rapid fire string destroyed it. Or rather I destroyed it after a squib load went undetected (dopey me). I sold it for parts for almost what I paid for it, testifying greatly that there is a veritable paucity of parts for these guns. I agree the PA-63 is an accurate shooter, and I love mine, but its got a very delicate trigger spring it seems to me. I think my P-64 is a better made weapon, but that is just my preference, I guess.
Here's my PA-63. It's marked as a PA-63 with a Century import stamp.

Boy, I'm glad I was told about this site!! I've learned alot about my next gun purchase PA 63. I will NOT buy any Wolf Ammo!!
Anybody used S&B ammo? All I can find is Wolf, Brown Bear and S&B. I'll only buy about 500 rounds anyway and then reload them.

I drug out my PA-63 about two weeks ago and went to the range. I had just cleaned the gun and my first two shots hit the target posted to the right of the one I was aming at. The other shots were right on. Taught me never use a gun for carry that has not been fired before, and has blown away any and all oil that might be in the barrel. Just a little something I once new and forgot and wanted to pass on.

S&B is the best in about every caliber they load!Boy, I'm glad I was told about this site!! I've learned alot about my next gun purchase PA 63. I will NOT buy any Wolf Ammo!!

I shoot alot of Silver Bear as well and have never had an issue.
I actually had a problem with some old CCI that blew a piece off of my firing pin on my CZ-82 a while back.
Like you and so many others, I stay away from WOLF just because so many problems seem to originate with their ammo.

Thanks for the advice blindog, but my squib happened under different circumstances. I had already shot 50+ rounds of Wolf 105 grain ammo and was tearing through a new box, when a strange FTE occurred (light recoil, low noise),. Instinctively I racked the slide and cleared it as I am trained to do, and continued to fire. I just wasn't really paying attention--my fault--that one of the rounds was a dud. The next one I sent down the tube bulged my barrel and froze the slide in place. To its credit, the little aluminum framed gun (PA-63) held up pretty well. Only the barrel was damaged.Taught me never use a gun for carry that has not been fired before, and has blown away any and all oil that might be in the barrel.

OK, S&B it is!
Now, anyone know where to get bullets in 9x18 for reloading?
Or load data?

If that long-winded link doesn't work go to Northwestloading.com.
Another source for 9x18 load data is from Makarov.com. This page has all kinds of useful info:

I just put one of those FEG 32acp's on layaway at the gun shop, it originally had the aluminum frame (anodized?) black but has worn off, I think I'll clean it up re do the frame (yay another project)
