Yeah I am planing on cleaning, polishing the ramp and replacing the springs right after I get it. Wish I could find a reasonable FFL a little closer to home. I checked a few place and they all wanted 75 bucks. The place where I grew up is only 25 but 2 hours away.

I'm still getting the run around from the machine shop guy - I really think the perceived liability issue is the problem. I have received a favorable response from Harrington Products - they currently manufacture parts for the CZ 52. The owner says he is interested in making P 64 pins - he asked for a sample. The only problem is that he's in Indiana. Any members in that area that would be willing to drop by and provide a sample? This looks like our best option - this guy already manufactures gun parts and is willing.

Wow you would think with the way the economy is today that they would be jumping at any chance to make money. Maybe it’s not as bad out there as the media leads me to believe.
I know there are a few place on the internet that already makes custom firing pins. IF you get no where I will see if I can hit them up. What we realy need is a CAD drawaing of this pin. That way no one has to send there pin in.

I'll be in Indiana next week and within 35 miles of Harrington Products. I could stop by if you don't find a CAD drawing before then.
I have both a round and triangle hammer version I could pull samples from. I don't intend to leave any parts with them though.
Any thoughts of having them make safeties as well? This is the other part with noted failures.
If Harrington does these parts they will most likely market them too. This would eliminate any personal investment.

Brock- Gunbroker has a neat service on their website they call "dealer network." Just type in your zipcode and a listing comes up of local dealers. Alot of them also list their fee.

Went and retrieved my firing pin today. The machine shop decided that the perceived liability issue was not worth the risk. I guess Harrington Products is the most viable option. Sorry I couldn't get this done.

The current plan is to visit Harrington Products next week to show them a sample of a firing pin and safety.
I tore down both of my P-64s. One is a 1971 round hammer and the other is a 1976 triangle hammer. Both firing pins were for all practical purposes identical. The 1971 measured 1.837" (46.66 mm) overall length. The point to the spring shoulder was 1.364"
(34.65 mm). The 1976 measured 1.835" (46.61 mm) OAL and point to shoulder was 1.364" (34.65 mm). The overall length differed by only .002" (.05 mm).
Would anyone else care to measure their firing pins to see what variations we find?
Thanks,
Dave
