yeah, thats the ammo i have been having issues with. they shot great for about 200 rounds then i started to have FTF on a pretty regular basis. i think the cases are coated to prevent rusting and the coating was building up in my gun. i think i have fixed the problem(thanks curley), but i haven't gotten to the range to test it out. when the ammo was shooting correctly, i will say it had good accuracy and the recoil wasn't too terrible compared to the blazer rounds i was shooting. the blazer round had a lot more recoil but no FTF. and yes i have heard form mutiple people to stay away from the wolf ammo(very dirty, and FTF's)

I have gone through 500+ rounds and all but one went bang ...... Remember my build up problem in the safety/fireing pin area,so I think it was my fault

I think you're really going to enjoy it. My guess is you can proceed without many worries about springs or ammo. The P-64 has been a delight in my collection. My spouse was absolutely deadly with that (puny Polish pugilist) pistol from moment one. I caught up after 1 or 2 more sessions with it. So, I'm all for leaving the P-64 stock and giving it a good test run. I think you'll be more than satisfied with what it can do after a good familiarization. And, now that I own 4 different 9x18mm's of different types and ages, I have been pleasantly surprised - I have never had a worn out spring or bad mag. My 1976 P-64 was like new and worked great. My CZ-82 was very well used, by a cop who clearly took care of his weapon, and was equally flawless in function and accuracy. They both shoot extraordinarily well for their wee stature. RE: Ammo: I simply bought 1 box of every 9x18 ammo SPORTSMANSGUIDE had available, on one of the (frequent) weekends he had free shipping. I really have come to enjoy and trust the cheap, steel cased Russian ammo. Meaning: TulAmmo and Brown Bear ball ammo, and Silver Bear (both HP and the less available FMJ). Then followed up with another 500 each of whichever 2 were cheapest. There was no function or accuracy difference across the 4 types. I'm no expert, but at least have a good feeling for it - having shot 1K or so of those 4 rounds thru both P-64 and CZ-82 pistols in the last 6 mos. Maybe I can later report on these vs. the Bulgarian Makarov and P-83 Wanad later. This caliber is a winner. I'd take it over .32 or .380 any day. And the weapons are dependable. I'd happily have carried a CZ-82, maybe even the P-64 in Iraq versus the junk M9 Beretta they perped on us. BTW: I won't endorse Wolf ammo. So, unless someone else has great things to say about their 9x18... Why? Poor quality control in the almost 600 rds of Wolf 5.45x39mm that I have fired this past winter. I will not waste time trying it in other calibers. I received it free, new, and will give it away. That's saying something anyway. Hope that helps.
