CZ -82 I THINK ARE C&R NOW

I hope it shoots better than it looks!

I received my CZ-82 from Classic Arms today, nice looking gun. Finish is very good to excellent, not a scratch, chip or anything except that there is pretty much no finish (paint) at all on the trigger guard, all worn off. And the grips are beaters, the right side looks like someone hammered nails with it! Oh and it is filthy, you can see and even hear the grit when you cock the hammer. I'm disapponted because when I spoke to them on Monday and they said (without my asking for handpicked) that they would find me a really nice one. Okay I'm gullible and believed them. I should have called Dans Ammo, same price and he at least claims to have cleaned and test fired everyone before he sells them.

Hopefully it is just a typical milsurp that needs a good dismanteling and scrubbing. I'm sure when I get this all cleaned up and figure out what to do with the naked trigger guard, it will be a beauty. Can't wait to shoot this thing over the weekend then there'll be a range report as well!

Like I said maybe I jumped to a conclusion and had a higher expectation than I should have. Hey, this is a surplus pistol, it will never be like new again. So I'll clean it and we'll see. Don't rule them out yet, maybe I got very lucky with my Mosin Nagant from them or maybe I just missed on this one. We'll see. I'll post later with pics once I finish "not loosing the parts I'm trying to clean".

I'd hate to pass jugdgement on one experience and I haven't even called to complain, I know I could send it back but why spend more money to get another possibly in similar shape or worse. I'll play with the hand I was dealt and give them the benefit of the doubt. I was +1 with the Mosin and now -1 with the 82...so I'm even. The best out of 3 is the answer...maybe. 8~)

I know I'm new atthis but shouldn't I be able to see some rifling in the barrel!?!?!

I am cleaning the gunk out of this CZ-82 and all was looking good until I looked down the barrel, mirror finish!! But like a mirror...smooth as silk!! I thought they had some polygonical something barrel.

Am I sending this thing back after all or is that the way it is supposed to be?

HELP!

SORRY, any firearm I've ever owned...maybe not as many as so many of you, have had rifling...grooves...in the barrel. I just wanted to be sure so I didn't fire it if I was returning it.

I thought this forum was for sharing experiences and help when needed. I needed advice so I asked. Believe me I ain't playin the fool, I guess I'm just not as knowledgable as you. But you gotta learn somewhere.

Thanks

Truth: BITE ME! I'm smiling and take no offense. But really I just wasn't sure...so I asked all you experts.

Thanks!

Now LOOK!

Not too shabby, like I said the grips suck but my buddy Norm has already come to the rescue. We'll see how it shoots saturday and like I said...maybe I just had too high an expectation and all I needed to do was clean the sand dunes out of it!! Did they carry CZ-82s on Baywatch, cause I think I got one from there!!
