eaglepath,
Glad you brought this thread back to the top!
This Forum has done really well for such an "unknown" pistol. When I first saw this pistol in my local gunshop, I said that is all I need is another commie period made pistol. One day when I was in the shop I looked at it and it felt good in my hand so I decided I had to have it, and the price was good at $145. Not know anything about it, I started searching the internet and found information on some of the Makarov Forums. Most comments were negative, but I could not find anything wrong with the pistol except the double action trigger pull. I never shoot DA anyway, so that was no problem for me. During my searching, I found this Forum and it had just started. WOW, a place for me to find out REAL info on the P-64.
Since those early days, most of the negative comments have ceased with the use of lighter weight springs to help the DA Trigger Pull. I have been fooling with firearms since I was 12 years old and the P-64 has continued to impress me. Are there problems with the pistol, yea, a few minor problems that can be easily solved by most anyone to make it into a fully reliable and ACCURATE pistol.
We had a couple of Polish Military guys on the Forum who provided a lot of unknown information to us which provided previoulsy unknown info. If you haven't already read some of the "Stickeys", take a look and you will find a lot of history direct from the guys who used the pistol.
Please come here often and join in with the conversations on one of the best small pistols ever made!

Did a google search after looking for P-64 info on Gunboards Makarovdot com & Slim Tim's Trader. I was into Makarovs before I knew anything about the P-64.
