Because the Disconnector works hand in hand with the Safety to preform the De-Cocking function that is not working for you. As I said the Disconnector often comes NEW with extra material and is fitted to work with a particular Slide and Safety. So If you get a NEW Disconnector it can be fitted to work correctly with the possibly worn Safety.
