The Extended Mag Releases Now Come in Hot Blued Finish
The Extended Mag Releases Now Come in Hot Blued Finish
The extended mag releases now come in a hot blued finish to better match the factory P-64 finish. The price went up slightly to $36.50. If you are interested PM me, I have batch ready and waiting to go.
Re: The Extended Mag Releases Now Come in Hot Blued Finish
Kind of makes me want to re-blue the rest of it.

Re: The Extended Mag Releases Now Come in Hot Blued Finish
Matt,
Hope things are well with you and yours. I did some work on my mag release as it was becoming an issue. I carry mine in an inside the waistband holster just behind my right pants pocket and have had some problems sitting down in certain chairs and the mag being released. Also I've handed it to two different shooters on the range and on the first magazine they hit the mag release on the first or second shot and the mag dropped out. It happened to me the first couple of times too but I simply adjusted my grip and that took care of it. Today I got out the dreaded dremmel tool and cut off the spur and ground it to just above the end of the magazine (well almost ) and cut some cross hatches in it and it works a lot better for my particular use, one finger, no digging up inside the weapon, just about perfect. I'm not a machinist or gunsmith by ANY stretch of the imagination so I got it just a tad, maybe 1/8th to 3/16's of an inch shorter than I wanted but it works just fine. What I was after was for the release to be just above the rear end of the mag but I came up a little short. I'm going to try and post a couple of pictures so you can see what I mean. My camera doesn't amount to much but I think you get what I mean. The original release was great for the range but for ccw I would prefer a release just outside the weapon but not so much that it gets caught in things or becomes accidentally unseated when firing. I think the first photo best illustrates what I mean. Please don't take this as a criticism because that's not my intent. I think it's more a matter of what works best for different people in different situations. As I said when I received it, the fit, and finish were perfect and you were a pleasure to do business with and the price was very reasonable. If you ever decide to make a style like this let me know and I'll be first in line. Stay safe my friend

Shoot first, Shoot straight, and hit what you're aiming at, if you can do these things and have six rounds of ammo, you'll have two thirds more than you need to prevail.

I will have a CCW version finished early next week, I will post my results.

Thank you, I believe it will do the job a little better in my particular situation. When Duo_Z gets his finished I'll buy one from him because along with not being much of a machinist or gunsmith, my bluing skills aren't so hot either .

I'm interested in either the CCW or regular version. How can I order one. Thanks
