Finally got one!!!

Post by blizzard109 »

I knew I had to have one the first time I saw one. I found this site learned a little bit about them. At the time the surplus houses had them for around $150. When I went to finally buy one they had dried up. When they finally started popping back up they were now up to $200 with only one clip. I figured I better go ahead and get one before there gone again. The night I was going to order one I was looking on a local gun sale forum and a guy 10 minutes from my work had one for sale. He was asking $175. I hold off on ordering one so I could meet up and look at the local P-64. Met the guy after work took one look at it and knew it was mine. It's a 1973 with about 95% bluing. Great condition. Only came with one clip though. I ask the guy what his best price was and with no haggling he just says he will take $150. SOLD!!!! Took it home and while using this site as a reference started taking it apart for inspection and cleaning. While looking at some of Norm's pics I found the slide stop spring was broke. Ordered one from Norm(Thank's Norm),Installed it and took it out and shoots fine. I just wonder was that broke spring causing the previous owner problems and thats why he sold it so cheap. A $5 fix and I'm shooting. Though I will say I will be getting some Wolf hammer springs. I think it was a pretty nice score.

Pics didn't work like I expected. How do you make them appear bigger?

I hate to be pedantic, but its a magazine, not a clip.

With that being said, nice score, I spent like $230 for mine...

Well, for Pedants that a "Charger."

For the REAL Pedants, what you call a magazine can actually be called a "clip" because Eugene Stoner filed patents calling them clips. Few gun designers have the reputation today that Stoner has. If he calls it a "clip" then so can you. :)
