Getting ready to crank up the press with 9x18 for the first time. Anyone have a good source for bulk plated bullets?

http://www.midwayusa.com/browse/BrowseP ... ***9015*** $17.24 / 100 FMJ ---or--- $43.99 / 500 Lead RN

Or you can buy a mold and cast your own from lead - http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?p ... mpaign=685

Thanks Norm, that is an awesome link. Was thinking I would order from either Berry's or Miester. I know you cast your own, but do you have an opinion on either of the two?

Missouri Bullet carries 9x18 cast lead bullets for $26 per 500. I have ordered from them and they have fast service. Their link is : http://www.missouribullet.com/results.p ... condary=28

I bought some MO Bullets, .38 S&W. They look nice, price was right, and shipping was fair. I got them pretty quickly + they have a military discount. How cool is that?!

Missouri Bullet is my goto company for cast bullets. They are fast, reasonably priced, and good people. I have made several orders with them and if they had the bullets ready, I had them in a few days. If they had to make them, I got them in less than two weeks. It's refreshing doing business with a good company.

I like these guys hard cast 21 Brinell. the hardest I have found. The shipping is $10.95 for up to 2000 bullets so just a few bucks less than Missouri bullets. they work great. I have used there 93gr Makarov and there 125gr 9mm bullets.

+1
I like doing buisness with Missouri Bullets. Like previous posts have said fast, friendly, efficient, and
a quality product at a great price. I use them for 9X18, 41Mag, & 45ACP. They work great.

Looks like this has a yearly bump, so here's a bump for 2012.

Pricing bullets and it looks like the common 93gr lead costs around $47 delivered for 500.

The Berry's plated currently cost $50 delivered for 500 (actually less, but free shipping over $50 so I usually add a plastic storage case to get to $50).

While I am having issues with seating some of the plated bullets noted in another thread, it still seems like for the very slight increased cost, the Berry's plated are the current best deal going.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages for lead Vs plated in this size?

Also use Missouri Bullet Company for soft Brinell 12 in my 1873 winchester 38-40 blackpowder shooter.

And for the lowest priced 32ACP, Mastercast bullets has 1000 (not 500) for $47 shipped.

Just saw the Mastercast 9mm mak, 1000 for $40 + shipping, which was less than $10 on my 32acp order, so might be worth a try. The 32acp bullets worked great.

I've found ammunitiontogo.com has the best prices on good quality ammo, a little better than Midway. But it depends on the amount you're ordering, because shipping charges might offset the savings on smaller quantities. Also, Midway ships faster.

On a side note, I had jams with both Silver Bear and Sellier & Bellott in my P-64 -- then I tried a mag loaded with white box Winchester and all six shots loaded smoothly and fired. I need to try it in all 5 mags next time I hit the range, but if it keeps working I'll use the others in my CZ-82 and stick to Winchester for my P-64. The same mag had jammed with Silver Bear, so it wasn't the mag, but the ammo.
