STEAMPUNK GRIPS
STEAMPUNK GRIPS
Hi . This is an art form known as Steampunk . It is a mechanical art form using mechanical or machined parts to create art. In this case I used watch parts and encapsulated them into the grips. Comments are always welcome.

Why settle for what you can get , when you can have what you want.

Re: STEAMPUNK GRIPS
Sadly, not enough "steampunk" art out there seems to incorporate actual working clockwork into their designs...
What's the thickness on grips like this? I wonder what it'd take to get my hands on some nice Polish coins for something like this...

Re: STEAMPUNK GRIPS
The thickness of the grip varies . At the top of the grip it is as thin as 0.1425 and in the center near the screw it is as thick as 0.3125 . I have put coins into grips before but they were 1911 grips . It is tougher in a grip like this because it is a 2 piece mold. This makes it allot more difficult. To fit the coins you would most likely have to file or machine them to be quite thin. Can It be done ? Most likely yes. Is it worth doing from a cost standpoint ? Most likely no.

Re: STEAMPUNK GRIPS
You could make a mold of a coin or what ever you would want to put in the grip. Fill it with epoxy, make as thin or thick as you like and spray paint. You could even inscribe it. "Yea though I shall walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil" or "Do you feel lucky today?? Well, do you punk??" Some thing like that. Naw! too much trouble. Maybe a 'Jolly Roger'
