Will Hammer Spring Affect Single Action????

First of all I am amazed at the accuracy of this pistol. Second of all the Double Action is at LEAST as horrible as everyone has said. If I change the hammer spring will it affect the single action pull? I do NOT want the single action any lighter. It is fairly light and crisp.

Yes, the mainspring is directly responsible for the trigger pull in double action and single action. A lighter spring will yield a lighter SA pull.

As dfunk stated, yes it will change the SA trigger pull. I use the 17# spring and it is substantially lighter than it was before and that was very light. It does give me a neat feeling though, I've never had a gun with a light trigger pull other than my great-grandma's old single shot .22 rifle. I really can't give you a guess as to what it is currently (poundage), I wish I could.

We usually suggest staying around 19 and going no lower than 18lb for the mainspring. You can get surprise mag drops at 17, as the mainspring is also responsible for tensioning the mag release (see a pattern here?). Can you install the 17-pounder and be okay? Sure, but for how long is the question. We definitively know that folks with lower-end poundage have had light strikes and dropped mags.
