Got it Norm, thank you for emailing the file. My first P-64 tear down, clean, polish, and assemble is done.

I have got to find a better way to install the safety detent, its almost as bad as assembling a S&W revolver.

I am sorry but that manual seems to be how to reassemble the firing pin after it has been removed.

I cant figure out how to get it out.

Can anyone break it down step by step how to remove the firing pin for me?

thanks

1. Take the slide off.
2. Turn the safety "fire" and push the rear-end of the firing pin in, with a small screwdriver or punch.
3. The firing pin will stick out about half an inch, after you push it in, grab it with locking pliers or forceps.
4. Using a flat screwdriver push the safety out, very slightly, then rotate it up, above the fire position.
5. Be very careful at this point, as Safety Detent will have a tendency to fling out of slide. You'll need to capture it using a cloth or guide it out using another screwdriver or something. Mine actually had so much dirt in it that it didn't pop out, but don't rely on that.
6. Once the Safety Dedent and Safety Dedent Spring are removed, you can pull the safety out all the way, then guide out the firing pin.

Be sure to look at the Assembly picture VERY carefully, there are several small parts in that area, which can turn your pistol into a paperweight.

I was able to disassemble mine, using just a small screwdriver, using locking pliers or forceps is a lot easier!

BTW: I followed the "Assembly Instructions" in reverse to figure out how to disassemble it.
