Papabear,
My knob Creek plans are foiled. My wife had a heart attack last weekend and has been in the hospital all week. Looks like she will need by pass surgery. Knob Creek will have to wait till next time.

redfestiva,

I am so very sorry to hear of your wife's malady, I know what she and you must be going through right now as I went through the same situation back in '97. Today's procedure's for open heart by pass surgery are much better today than back when I had my 5 by passes. My thoughts and prayers will be with your wife and you through this.

You, your wife and family are in my prayers. I am sorry to hear of her situation, no surgery is easy or no big deal but if any were to be considered less problematic it is by-pass surgery in this day and age. Hang in there and know you're in our thoughts and that your extended family is always a mouse click away, right here...I have no clue what any of us could do to help but know this, all you need do is ask.

Thanks everyone. It's 4:30 am and I'm about to head out for the hospital. They are doing the bypass this morning. They said it will take around 5 or 6 hrs, then 2 days of ICU. If all goes well she can come home in about 5 to 7 days after surgury. The surgeon says her heart is in good shape but it needs to get the good blood flow back to stay that way and that there is no reason to think she won't have a routine positive recovery with great results. I guess these days they are literally doing these everyday with great outcomes. That said I'll try not to hold my breathe all day. Thanks again for the support gang, I appreciate it. I better run, I'll let you know how it goes.

Hey thanks everyone.,
She did just great , all went according to plan and tonight in ICU with about a mile of tubes and wires hooked up to her she wanted me to turn on the tv so she could catch some of the baseball playoff game. Looks like she's gonna be just fine. It's been a long long day and I'm beat so I'm gonna get some sleep while I can. Thanks again gang for your thoughts and prayers.

My goodness Steve, I haven't followed this thread or I'd sent best wishes earlier!

I know everyone here wishes they could do more. I do. My hopes for a speedy recovery and another 75 years on this planet.

Steve: See...prayers do get answered. ;D Glad to hear your wife came through well and hope for a speedy recovery.

Nbender: Now you could get in serious trouble as it appears you may have divulged someone's age!!! :'( be very careful, once she is healthy again she may go looking for you :D

Now wait carguy ... I meant 75 + whatever age, non-discriminatory clause.

I'm hoping for another 75 years myself - and I turned 21 in Pleiku, VN (when the youngsters in the office ask HOW OLD ARE YOU? I tell them I turned 21 in VN and YOU estimate it).
