Not a single P-64 at Knoxville, TN gun show

Post by volfandan »

I couldn't believe it! I really thought I scoped out the show pretty well. I saw about 3 CZ-52's (all $189) a couple of Makarovs, and actually only 1 pa-63 in the whole building! Other than the fact that I had some $$ in my pocket itching to find even a decent deal on a 64.....no such luck.

Passed on a very good condition Norinco SKS for $165 (asking price), and a S&W Model 65 .357 mag, stainless with 4" bull in very good condition for $275 (asking). Passing on that S&W is going to haunt me.....I've been looking for a good stainless revolver to carry while fishing in the boondocks.

Volfandan,

The most recent "expo" gunshow didn't have any that I saw either. However, when I was at the most recent "gunshow in the smokies" near Chilhowee Park, they had a bunch. I believe you might be able to find some P-64's at Guns and More---5612 Kingston Pike (865 584-1100).

Hope this is helpful.

Devlinfaust,

Yeah, Guns & More does have some, but they are $210 + tax + background $10. I'd be looking at $240 OTD, and that's just a little higher than I'd like to pay. I may have to....but I'm going to keep looking. Heck, I could have one transferred through them (Guns & More) and have it OTD for about $200.....but I feel guilty about doing that to my local gun store if they have the same item in stock.

Guns & More was where I bought both of my 1968's. I got a really good deal, just slighlty over $300 OTD for the pair. That was before they had caught on, and I think, at that time, they simply wanted to get rid of them. Not the case now.

If I hear of any other vendors having them, I'll shoot you a message.

I bought one off of Gunbroker for $170 which included shipping.
The gun looks nice. I haven't even cleaned it yet, but it appears to be in VG condition.

I've thought of that.....just feel bad that when I add in the $20 transfer fee....I'm just $20 less than the gun store that stocks them. :-X How recently did you purchase your 64 off gunbroker?

Volfandan,

Its been a month exactly. It came with an extra mag and has the flat grips which I prefer. Brought it home and its been sitting in the safe since.

Trying not to even think about getting another, but I am slowly losing the battle. Isn't two P-64 enough?

So Norm what do you consider cheap? I think before another p-64 comes home my CZ-82 needs a brother (spare).

To try to keep this thread a little on topic, Sadly I did miss the last two local gun shows. Family comes first though.

I paid $135.00 apiece for the 4 I got before taxes I also bought them 2 at a time, I think I'd pay around $ 165. or lower plus tax.

could not agree with you more on the CZ-82 it needs a twin

but right now I'm looking for 2 or 3 more FEG BR-61's

If I could find one locally at that price I would snatch it up in a sec.

The cheapest I found was at a local show here last fall. $139 OTD. I just traded my pa-63 w/dennis grips to my dealer for a clean 1974 p-64. He had a price tag of $180 on it. It was one of the last 4 that SOG had. They are getting scarce! I sure hope someone finds a stash of them somewhere. :) I guess I need to change my family photo now. ;D

I have 3 and bought each form a different shop and each cost $199 each. Price setting maybe but one of the guns was bought in a different county. If I see another one for $199 you can bet I will bring it home!!
