Nice one Sunset. My 1987 is still on the assembly line getting new innards.

Thank you.

I would love to buy one of the P83s offered by Sportsman Guide as a second P83, but have bought a Walther PPS M1 this month, in addition waiting for another pistol to come back from a refinish, and have sent the slide from my P83 for sight work, so I am spent out for a while.

When I send the frame and parts to Birdsongs Black T, they are going to finish the trigger in Green T for me!

Here is an excellent analysis of the P83 done by a Gunboards member.

I have read that posting previously, and the author's perspective on the manufacture of the P83 is very enlightening.

After reading it, it's quite apparent the thought out engineering and design work that went into it.

Being a miltary pistol, it had no need for an Abbreviated hammer.

The 3 most singular omissions in its excecution in my opinion are:
Shallow slide cocking serrations
Non existant sights
Corrosion resistant finish

Much has changed in the design world of the military in Europe since the 80's, much of it brought on by the Glock pistol. Perhaps the Polish military needs for a pistol were minimum, I just wish there were many, many more of the civilan Eagle models produced and imported into the USA.

I remember seeing those Dalvar Eagle models , but they were too expensive, or so I thought back then in the late 90's for me to purchase.

I also wish that there were more civilian models available. I prefer the round hammer to the spur hammer. At least I wish the hammers were available by themselves.

Mine's got a green trigger too. Which fits, since it snaps like celery on the DA pull. Very nice.
Jesus sez 'Pack Heat' Luke 22:36: "Then said he unto them, But now,
he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that
hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."

My 1987 also has the green trigger and also the SB 05XXX S/N. My 1989 doesn't and its S/N is LNXXXXX. Unfortunately the 1987 has an issue with the frame which doesn't allow the safety to decok the hammer. The safety make very little contact with the hammer release for it to drop the hammer. I don't know if the frame/rails lifts the slide or the hammer pin is too low. But I can put the slide of the 1987 on the frame of the 1989 and it functions perfectly.
