CZ82 DA Problems..........

Post by leadhead2 »

I just bought a CZ82 from a buddy of mine and while playing
with it, I find it won't fire in DA. When the trigger is pulled, the hammer
goes all the way back, but won't release. Anybody have any ideas
what might be wrong? Thanks for any info.

Make sure the internals are cleaned. Might be some detritus preventing the trigger from traveling far enough to break.

Have torn it down and found the sear spring broken.
Have a new one on the way. I've read where the
disconector can cause the DA issue, but this gun looks
like it just left the arsenal. I don't see any wear any
where on it.

Strangely enough, that does happen. The spring probably was defective from the factory and broke within a few cycles; maybe while being dry fired.

I replaced the spring and the same thing happens.
Now it won't fire in SA. When I pull the trigger, the
seems to drop on a half cock position. The DA will
work with the trigger guard off, but when it's in
place, the hammer won't drop in DA. Just the same
as when I started to work on it. I think its a piece
of junk.

Well, I finely got it to work. Ordered a new sear from CZUSA and installed
it this morning. Works like a charm now. After tearing it down and back
together 4or5 times, it's really not that hard to do. Just glad it's done.

Glad you got it working. I have a CZ 82. I liked it enough that I bought 4 CZ 83's for my kids in 380. I had one problem with mine. While cleaning it, the pin for the trigger guard pin fell out. The trigger guard fell out & the slide release spring came out. WHAT A PAIN to get it back in! Someone here designed a new one that is easier to use. Have fun with your gun!

The trigger guard axis pin (I think it's called) is notorious for doing this. Usually, they won't fall out if you put the trigger guard "up" before removing the grips. What you might want to try, though, is putting one end of the pin just barely into a vise and squeezing the Pelosi out of it. I did that with one of mine and it made the end of the pin sufficiently out-of-round to make for a snug fit.
