PA-63 casing Does not extract after 4th round is fired?

Post by swd »

Just need some help with this. After I fire the 4th round in my PA-63. The casing extracts only half way and the next round jams into the casing. I remove Magazine, and then have to pull receiver back to properly discharge the empty case. Is the extractor going bad?

Thanks,

Have you changed ammo recently? Have you tried a different brand, same problem? What ammo are you using?

+1 on Weasels questions.

Do you have 2 mags?

Does it happen in both?

Is this hard ball or hollow point ammo?

Using Sellier and Bellot, 95 Grain, FMJ for the Ammo. I do have two mag's and this happens on both. I'm thinking its the extractor.

I would check the ejector and ejector spring also if the extractor doesnt look damaged or isn't gunked up.

It could be extracting all the way out but not ejecting then the next round jams it half way back into the chamber again.

Another thing to check would be the Barrel and chamber. Check to make sure there are no swells in the Barrel, and the chamber head space is correct. It should be one of the least likely causes. But if there is a problem with the Barrel/chamber it can cause problems with extraction too.

Thank you. I'll check the barrel as well.
