weight of carry p64 vs pa63!

Post by big54r »

I would like any of you guy's who have both a p-64 and a pa-63 and actually conceal carry them interchangeably to give me some feedback on how the weight and difference of carry is.

I carry my p-64 everyday in a dick funk holster with a spare mag carrier but am also looking to purchase a pa-63 for day's when I have a video shoot and wanna cut some weight.

I love the p-64 but it is heavy when I haul my video equipment...hell it's heavy when I don't!!! :)

I have a pretty heavy leather jacket and an inside pocket where i keep my PA63 ,when i carry it i notice the jacket gets lopp sided and is quite annoying sometimes ,the gun will pull down the coat on one side. The gun to me and who have handeled says its not that light of gun it has some weight to it even empty.

Both are about the same. A website says 21.9oz for the P64 and 21oz for a PA63. That is both unloaded. I don't know what they weigh loaded. One website stated the PA63 was 26oz. So, that's really not much difference, so if you want to be technical, the PA63 is the lightest but not by much.

thanx guy's...I held a pa-63 and it seemed lighter but your replies indicate that the difference isn't as much as I thought.

so it looks like I may just get cz-82 instead...I like them best anyway.

CZ-82's are awesome. I own one and love it. 12+1 rounds, good weight, grip is perfect, and they are accurate.

IIRC correctly, my PA63 weighs 20 grams less than my P64, empty. But I had removed a little bit of material from from grip hump.

pa-63 is DEFINITELY easier to carry than a cz-82. it gets a tad iffy when comparing the pa-63 to the makarov and p64 for carry, as the sizes are similar and the weight differences aren't huge.

but the cz-82 is wider than the pa-63 and noticeably heavier. i own both. the pa-63 is easier to hide under a t-shirt.

I'm considering purchasing a P64 for concealed carry. I currently use a cz70, and I would like something with a bit more power. However, my cz70 is the perfect size and weight for me. I especially like the flatness of the cz70.

Can anyone tell me how the p64 compares?

If you want lighter and a bit smaller try to find a SMC918 or RC61 mak version.

Here's a link to all the FEG stuff for your viewing pleasure.

All the PA-63 goodness within a smaller package.
Size wise the difference between a PP and a PPK.

Curly1: What is an SMC918? It's not on the link you provided, nor is RC61?? R61 is. Is that the same?

Is the R61 C&R? Can you carry it "condition one?"

Sorry yes R61, SMC918 was the exported to USA version of the R61.
Not sure about C&R status have they been around 50 years?
Yes same carry as P64.
