found a pa-63 at a local gun dealer recently, so i Brought it home.
its in ok condition, the shop said 85%. The thing is, its all black. I was wondering if this is common, if i should keep it this way or try to do something else. I kinda like the two-tone ones. I see you can get a polished aluminum frame for around 35 bucks. would it be worth it to get one and change everything, or is that way to much work? or maybe theres a cheep easy way to refinish this one?

jhandy,
If that is a true PA 63 and has not been modified by a previous owner, there are not many like that. You may have a collector's item. I would not mess with it until I was sure.

especially since it has a flat left grip

It was manufactured with a bright-finish Titanium-Aluminium alloy frame (later with blued frame), and a steel slide. Early grips had no thumbrest. Some commercial pistols have two-tone finish

Is the frame aluminum and if so, what's the finish? (or is it painted?)

well, I would say the frame is in fact all aluminum, and the finish seems like its blued. I dont know, can aluminum be blued? Maybe it is pant. Ill try to get some better, up close and personal pix.

jhandy,
It was brought in by Century International Arms up in Vt.
Look it up if you have an up to date "Blue Book" by SP Fjestad.
As Norm advised it is an Anodized black ,Titanium-Aluminum alloy frame. I saw a few of those when I lived in Vt. Lots of guys carried them in their pick-up trucks along with the East German Maks that Century was selling for $100. I should have bought a dozen or more of both. Sgt P.
