CZ 82-smooth bore?

Post by chuck »

got my cz82, heard it has different type of rifling, but it looks almost smooth. Is that the way it is supposed to look? Shoots nice, no keyholes on the targets.

I heard that polygonal rifling is difficult to ballistic fingerprint. Is that true? I assume that "difficult" does not mean impossible. What other guns use a polygonal rifling?

The most popular one today is the Glock.
It's because of this type of rifling they tell you not to shoot straight lead through them.

Hay Chuck, I just received my CZ82 yesterday and I was also concerned about the barrel, the rifling looks nothing like the polygonal rifling in my S&W 340PD but sure enough it shot like a dream, almost as accurate as my E.G. Makarov "and that ain't bad". :)
