Informal email-in shooting competition

ok, I finally get a chance back on the computer and...

Holy C##p!! 30 replies already!! This is gonna be FUN!!

anyways, I like the target Norm posted because, like Red said, the 1" in grip will make scoring easier.

3 targets, 5 shots each at 10 yards sounds good and quarterly matches sound good to.

Ill be posting my best target before Midnight on July 4th!!!

I think group size might be hard to determine from the pics for a tie breaker, perhaps we should post the best 2 out of 3 targets -- the second target would only be judged in the event of a tie but the points from the second target would not effect the overall score from the first target.

Donating 2 bucks to the forum is a great idea, does this site take paypal?

Does anyone think we could get the moderators to add another section to the forum specifically for the shoot comps?

Should allow those that my not have a P64 to enter using an "honorary P64"?

Do you want to get complicated and have 2 competitions?

One for P-64s only.

One for any 9x18 caliber pistol.

Since this is the P-64 forum it should be at least a P-64 competition...juist my 2 cents...don't want to leave anyone out thus the suggestion of an additional shoot.

Norm,

I think we should limit it to only P64, but with a consideration for members like Bartos who doesn't have a P64. I feel that the majority of us that will participate have P64s, but perhaps "honorary P64" could mean PPK clones chambered in 9x18 or 380; 9mm para should definitely be excluded. But, if you have a P64 then that is what you should enter the match with and we would trust each other to do so.

Carguy,

The targets should be posted by midnight July 4th and the winner would be announced sometime afterwards.

+1 to that. I was reading this last night hoping a few folks would respond. What a great surprise.

I say P-64's for those that have them and PPK clones for those that don't. It seems like it would be easier to be more accurate with some of the slightly larger framed 9X18 pistols out there....never shot any of them, just seems like it would ring true..Assuming it is, I would think there would be an unfair advantage to the larger framed guns.

That said, I think we should keep this as open to all as possible.

I hope to have my entries shot up this weekend. Will post results.

I figured dickfunk would have poked in here at some point, I'm interested on what he thinks. It can be made "official" with his blessing.

Its no problem Norm, if we had taken a vote I would have voted for you anyway.

Have you asked Abwehr or Dickfunk about adding a new section in the forum?

Hey Norm ! That website ProTargets is a really nice site ! I have made and printed at least 800 targets over the last year and i like these just fine ! I prefer the 5-circles so you don't have to keep changing targets. An Osama target could make a statement here too.

Chelsea Clinton was talking to a combat decorated soldier. She asked him
what three things he feared most in this world.

His answer is a classic:
"Osama, Obama, and Yo Mama."

I save most of my old targets for reference , because i reload . That way if i like the way a certain load shoots i can repeat the results consistently .
In this contest, will it just be factory Ammo? or will reloaders count? G

Garry,

Shoot what ever ammo you feel is best for your pistol. I have no objections to anyone shooting homemade reloads.
