I just picked these up yesterday at a local show, #'s 00740, 02057, and 00245. Condition appears unissued, used very little if at all. I haven't cleaned them out or tested them yet. The floor plates are scratched up a bit, probably from storage, getting knocked around. I'm looking for 04080 or some #ed in that area. Not interested in selling any at this time, just trading out for like mags. Thanks, great idea on the match up!!

Picture the Polish armory issuing P-64s out of wooden boxes. They come from the factory without magazines. Picture the armorer reaching into a large bin when he issues the pistol to get two magazines to issue to the soldier along with the P-64 he gets. He then takes an electric pen and writes the serial number of the pistol on both mags. That will be the only matching done. The mags are not matched to the pistols individually during manufacture.

I believe research will prove this is true and all the mags are the same except for the electro-penciling. Which means that matching numbers on mags adds nothing to the value of the pistol. If one mag works better in a particular pistol than another mag does, it's merely coincidental, if this is the case.

The point of this is not to get a "better" mag or anything this is just for fun, It's kind of exciting reuniting things that were long lost. If you don't want to be involved then don't participate, dont try to bring everyone else down.

Trent,

I had not come back to this forum for a number of days, or would have replied to your statement earlier.

I don't see where I am trying to "bring everyone else down." Perhaps you are just enjoying jumping on the bandwagon with those enamored with one other cyber personality on here that got all miffed at a little bruising about the ego problem he has, I don't know. Does it make you feel like "one of the popular guys" to come on and bark at me for my insensitivity to
your excitement about exchanging mags or whatever with your new cliquey friends?

I chuckle at your consternation and righteous indignation. chuckle, chuckle.

I'm just trying to shed a realistic light on the magazine electro-penciled numbers. Mags were issued with one pistol and then turned in and re-issued later to another soldier with a pistol that had a different number; and this, undoubtedly, occurred several times with some mags and pistols, so the electro penciling leaves no historical trail with any documentable integrity. You might as well be trading shell casings.

So, you say what you want to say, and don't tell me what to say. I will participate or not and comment at will. If you cannot stand admonition, or if the facts of a particular subject offend your sense of imagination and pop your bubble about something, I might suggest you communicate with your new special buddies in a more private way,say with pms and email....
because I will be around the P-64 board for a long time to come, and if I have something I feel like saying, I will do so without profanity, and in accordance with the rules Dick has established for this forum.

I am a good guy and don't have mean intentions. I might be a little abrasive at times, but I'm real and have many, many years of experience owning and carrying handguns. And I'm willing to bet I can take a stock P-64 in good shape and outshoot just about anybody in your little mag-trading group.

I apologise,

I as well didn't have mean intentions, I agree with the whole electropencling thing, and realize that Is what they did, it just seems you said it in more of a negative context, it sounded to me like you were trying to put a stop to this thread (kinda like you were trying to make people feel embarrassed for having participated)

I don't claim ownership to this group (heck I only posted twice here I think) but they seem to be having fun and I thought I was standing up for that.

I don't mean to make you angry, I just aparantly over-analyzed what you said and I'm sorry.

I hope we can start over and you won't hold a grudge against me.
