drooping decocker

Post by coalgeo »

On occassion, the decocker will drop under recoil - just enough so it will not fire. A flick of the finger takes care of the problem but I suspect that there is a spring that is weak/broken. Is there a good general source for parts and for a schematic?
Thanks

Thanks for the info - I know that I need to strip it down and give it a good cleaning anyway, although it has fed everything I have put into it without a bobble.

Greg

any new or old gun you should at lest field stripe it and clean it before you ever shoot it and military surplus gun's should be completely cleaned of al Cosmolin before ever shot

(there are no replacement parts for these guns right now )

these 3 threads will give some idea what to do about the drop safety

Yep, sounds like my experience. Norm has linked to some of the posts where I described my safety problem.

You'll have to take the safety apart of course - that's the easy part. Boiiiiiiinnnnnnngggggggggg. Getting it back together might take 3 hands.

My plunger was very flat. But I think the real reason behind the malfunction was a shortened spring. After I replaced the spring there were no problems. 8-)
